Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the lesser known but very interesting reserve forests, spread over an area of thirty eight Km². is located in the Morigaon district of Assam, 50 Km east of Guwahati in the North Eastern part of India. This wildlife sanctuary boasts of the highest density of Rhinoceros and is home to the great Indian one-horned rhinos that are one of the endangered species. This is one of the three most important rhinos reserves in India; the other two being Kaziranga National Park and Manas Wildlife Sanctuary.
